Cubs!
~The Musical~
"This year, the Cub's season played out like a movie. In
fact, it should be a movie. No wait, a musical!" ~ My mom
After Mom gave us the idea, my sister and I started
writing a musical about the Cubs' 1998 season. And here's what we came up
with...
The Cast:
We're still in the process of casting many of the roles! There are
still a lot of Cubs/announcers/other people left!
Rod Beck -- himself
Because Rod Beck is one of a kind! No one could
do him justice.
Jeff Blauser -- Ron Howard
Melissa noticed this similarity...and she
doesn't even like baseball.
Brant Brown -- Brian
Littrell (from the Backstreet Boys)
They look so much alike! Brian might
have to change his hair a little, but that's it. And I think he's pretty good
at baseball, too!
Chip Caray -- Jim Carrey
My uncle pointed this out...the similarity
is kind of freaky.
Harry Caray -- This guy from a local McDonald's Commercial
He
doesn't look like Harry, but through the magic of make-up, I think he can pull
it off. And he does a great impersonation of Harry's voice.
Gary Gaietti -- Jerry Seinfeld
Gary looks like Seinfeld after a few
days without shaving.
Mark Grace -- Garth Brooks
These guys are the same person! They look
exactly alike.
Mickey Morandini -- Jim Breuer
If Jim Breuer grew his hair out a
little, it could work.
Ron Santo -- Bobby Sherman
I saw the 1970's teen idol on some VH1
"Where Are They Now?" show, and he reminded me of him!
Sammy Sosa -- The Bus Driver from the "Backstreet's Back" music
video
This is unexplainable.
Steve Stone -- Albert Brooks
My mom's idea...I saw some images from
Albert Brooks' new movie, and he could totally pass for Steve Stone
Kevin Tapani -- The guy who played Luke's dad on "Growing Pains"
We
won't need any make-up for this guy. The resemblance is unbelievable.
Kerry Wood -- Fred Durst (the dude from Limp Bizkit)
Fred Durst
isn't as adorable as Kerry, but he could pull it off.
The Songs
The songs are still under development! Most of them don't have titles
yet.
Theme Song -- "We're the Cubs"
Home Run Number
A Goodbye Number to Kevin Orie
A Sad Song After Brant Brown Drops the Ball
Closing Number After One-Game Playoff
"It's a Beautiful Thang" -- We don't know what this song will be about
but we think it would be a cool title!
Coming Soon: Pictures of the cast and more
songs!
